After nearly 14 years in the financial services industry, Rob relocated from Chicago to Kalamazoo to pursue a career in Law. After graduating from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 1999, he went on to complete a post doctorate Master of Laws in taxation (LL.M.) from Wayne State University Law School. Rob holds Certificates of Completion in the areas of probate and estate planning, and family law issued by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Probate, Estate Planning, and Family Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan.

Rob’s prior financial experience working with closely held business owners and professionals combined with his knowledge as a Tax Attorney and business owner, gives him a unique and valuable perspective; particularly when dealing with issues of bankruptcy, tax litigation, property settlements, and business entity choice and continuity planning. Owning a business today is difficult at best with myriad rules and regulations that must be followed. Choosing the right entity, operating agreements, employment, sales, and competition agreements could mean the difference between success and failure. Rob represents business owners and individuals that have tax disputes or issues, such as audits, trust fund assessments, unpaid taxes, and non-filers, with the IRS and State of Michigan. Recently Rob has taken unique cases such as adverse property claims in Costa Rica and professional gambler income tax refunds from the IRS and Michigan Department of Treasury. Rob is licensed to practice in all State Courts as well as the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the United States Federal Court for the Western District of Michigan.
